I didn't know you could squeeze so many first into such a short amount of time. To start this is my first time to ever have my own spot on the lease. Up until now its always been Tim's lease and I took one off his # he was aloud to take. Then its my first time to hunt on an opening weekend. The morning starts off with me ready to go but waiting on 2 others to get moving so I can drop them off on the way to my stand. I was wanting to be ...More Read More

Got to the 1st Annual MOF hunt at Hunt N Shoot Ranch Friday evening. This was my first ever hog hunt to be on. We got there to late to hunt the first evening but that was ok because I had 2 new bows that still needed to be sighted in. Tim and I headed to the stand early Saturday morning. With my Switchback in hand I climbed into the stand to wait for the pigs to come in. It wasn't long before a small fallow buck came in to the corn. He wasn't there to long before he was spoked off. A group of 3 ...More Read More

April 28, 2007 We took Chance on his second trip to Thompson Temple's ranch. We sat back and watched Friday evening to let Chance pick out what type of ram he would like to shoot. After a few hours we had only seen a few ram in the mountain pasture which were out of Chance's price range. That night we asked Thompson to take us to the top of the mountain to see if we had better luck up top. By the time morning came around our minds had changed and we decided not to make that trip up to the very top. We got ...More Read More

We headed down to Dave's to hang out with his family and to do a lil spike and doe hunting. I found myself that morning climbing back down off a tripod stand because the seat was full of ice and water. We headed deeper into the trees to a pop-up blind. As we sat there we could hear the feeder back at the tripod going off. 30 mintues and 2 1/2 bags of corn later it finally stopped. After that I didn't have my hopes up in seeing any deer. I was proved wrong but they were about 60 yards down a tri ...More Read More

December 30, 2006 After checking out what Thompson had to offer I had my eye set on a red tagged Painted Dessert and a red tagged lame Mouflon type. I grabbed my bow & lucky charm (Chance) and headed to get which ever one of the 2 I saw first. I got myself situated where Chance could see everything clearly without worrying about sittind on a cactus. We didn''t have to wait long before a group of Catalins showed up in front of us. I already got my Catalins so we waited until they left. We didn''t have to wait lon ...More Read More

December 29, 2006 For Christmas we decided to take Chance on his first ram hunt at Thompson Temple''s. After looking around and seeing the different kind of ram available Chance said he would like to get a 4 horn ram if he could. We headed to a spot the rams like to feed. On the way there we went to pass by a couple of hunters in a stand. The hunters kowing Chance was wanting a 4 horn motioned that there was one in front of them feeding. Chance and Tim got Chance all set up as I hung back some to video. Chance w ...More Read More

November 24,2006 Chance and Tim went out for a long weekend at the lease after Thanksgiving. Tim got himself and Chance set up to watch a place where he has been putting out corn for deer. They just missed an oppertunity at a deer when Chance noticed something moving threw the high grass. They eased there way in for a better look when they noticed it was a bobcat that had made his way to a brush pile and was searching for birds. Chance asked Tim if he could shoot it and Tim got him all set up for the shot. Chan ...More Read More

November 11, 2006 Chance and I headed out to the lease in Young Co. for the weekend to try to get ourselves a deer. Saturday morning a few deer showed up about 50yards out our right window threw a small clearing. Chance wasn''t able to get a shot because they never stopped. Saturday evening found us back in the stand this time with my bow in hand hopeing that one of those deer from the morning might find there way into bow range. After watching several more deer pass threw the same 50yard opening out my right wi ...More Read More

July 14, 2006 With some help from TexasTaxi I had set up a surprise trip for Tim to go on a ram hunt for his birthday. I later invited myself along on the trip! This was to be alot of first for me, my first time to go to a hunting ranch, my first time to hunt rams and my first time to hunt with a bow. After a long drive we arrived at Thompson Temple''s and got to meet Thompson himself, TexasTaxi, some of his friends and the other hunters there that weekend. Having never bowhunted before I was nervous and wa ...More Read More
